Though her time has been spent mainly is secondary school education, it is a passion of hers to teach at a primary level. She has pursued this both at Owl, and by working as an English co-coordinator for key stage 2 transition students. Her work extends to charity as she has offered her versatile skills by volunteering to work with children in an orphanage in Egypt. Ms Foreman currently acts as our programme co-ordinator and works offsite, writing and producing syllabi for both our 11+ courses and advanced Year 5 and 6 English courses.
Ms Hladik has been at Owl for over fifteen years. We have always believed that a solid foundation between the ages of 4 and 5 can do wonders for a child's academic progress and potential. Ms Hladik is a key part of this for us. She has extensive teaching experience, spanning over 20 years and is capable of identifying the precise individual needs of a child from a young age. She completed her teaching qualifications at UMESP (University of Sao Paolo). Her teaching history includes the Holly Lodge Montessori School, Norwood Green Preschool Nursery and St Mary's Day Nursery. She is now a full time professional tutor at Owl Education.
After graduating from Cambridge University, with a First-Class honours degree, Mr Powell achieved a Distinction in the ‘Writing for Performance’ MA at Goldsmiths, University of London. He has pursued a career as a professional tutor, with experience in teaching English from KS2 to A-Level, including preparation for 11+ and 13+ Examinations. Tom states ‘My approach depends upon the age group I am working with, but it is modelled on the principles that underpinned my Cambridge and MA education – focussed, creative, and discursive tuition which aims to inspire and challenge the students, and builds their confidence by challenging and stretching them. I assess their level of ability and their preferred learning styles at the outset, and tailor the approach to get the best out of them, incorporating a variety of different tasks and challenges into their everyday learning.’
